February Greetings to our faithful newsletter community! It is hard to believe, but the first email I (Madison) wrote and sent to you was two years ago: February of 2022. I am so thankful to you for welcoming me with open arms to the family business! I enjoy sharing our Horn Canna Farm news with you each month. What is your favorite part of our newsletters? We can't wait to start sending out our first orders of 2024 next week! It is hard to believe that shipping season is already here. Our daily tasks around the farm will adjust as we finish winter processing and transition into shipping. Winter processing, also called trimming, is when we wash the canna rhizomes, trim them to the appropriate size, and sort them. The biggest and best bulbs are for our customers; the rest go back into storage until we plant them in the canna field. Shipping is what it sounds like: we hand choose cannas for each order, place them in bags and boxes, and then print the shipping label. This usually takes place either the day before or the day that your order ships. We do our very best to honor requested ship dates, but sometimes must make adjustments for weather. We want your cannas to arrive safely and without freezer burn! 

Did you know that we offer several bulk options? These are great if you are filling a large space, looking for a bargain, or want a sample of several varieties. A few of our bulk selections include: 

  • Assorted All Heights: a total of 24 bulbs, mixed from 8 different varieties of all heights
  • Assorted Dwarf: a total of 24 bulbs, mixed from 8 different dwarf varieties
