Weather in Oklahoma is known to be unpredictable during the spring and early summer months with thunderstorms, hail, and tornadoes. This year is no different, with severe winds affecting the state last weekend, leaving hundreds of thousands without power in 90°F heat. Myself (Madison), my husband Ty, our cat, and dog have been couch surfing this week due to not having power after the severe winds. We are so grateful to our family and friends that have hosted our little family!

Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the weather. Please join us in thinking of those who are without power, injured, or who have been otherwise affected.

Thankfully, before the storm started, we got up in the middle of the night and moved all my potted cannas and other plants to safety in our garage. My plants in the ground did not fair quite as well but will recover quickly.

Just yesterday, the farm got two inches of rain, but no damaging winds or hail. We are most grateful considering the severe drought just last summer and fall!

For anyone facing the aftermath of severe weather or hail, we have a few tips to help! While hail and wind can leave foliage looking tattered and torn, the damage is cosmetic. Trim damaged leaves or stalks to make your flowerbed or container look tidy. It may take a few weeks to see significant new growth. The great thing about cannas is they always bounce back to be a statement piece in the garden!

We continue to offer all bulbs at 30% off. Shop now! Bulb sales end June 30th. Many of our customers have taken advantage of 50% off all of our bulk bulbs. It's not too late to plant in larger, mass plantings to add great color this season and for many years. All of our Bulk 25 and Bulk 50 packs are 50% off.
