Are you wanting to visit our farm, but want to make it a day or weekend trip? If so, we have a few suggestions to make your visit one to remember! Here you will find places to stay and things to do. It would make a great trip for you and your gardening friends, your significant other, or even the whole family.   • Crooked Creek Farm and Ranch are cabins, only 3 miles from our farm! This is a great place to unplug and enjoy some time away from home.
  • The Canyon Inn at Medicine Rock Ranch is a charming bed and breakfast where Nikki and Dustin have stayed twice! We adore the lovely owner and highly recommend this unique getaway. It is located in Lookeba, OK, which is about 30 minutes from our farm.
  • Hat Top Ranch, a beautiful lodge near Velma, OK which can sleep up to 14 people! Activities include fishing and hunting with picnics and campfires. All with lovely scenery and wildlife to please the eye. This is about 1 hour and 45 minutes from the farm.
Outdoor Activities:
  • Wichita Buffalo Company is a farm-to-table operation with bison! Not only can you get up and close to the buffalo, learn about what it's like to care for the majestic animals, ideas for cooking the meat, and buy some for your own use. Wichita Buffalo Company is located 40 minutes from HCF.
  • Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is one of many gems here in Oklahoma. It was set aside in 1901 and is one of the oldest national wildlife refuges in the nation. Here you will find opportunities for fishing, bird watching, wildlife photography, hiking, camping, and kayaking. Our family loves to visit the refuge, especially since it is less than an hour away!
  • P Bar Farms is complete with a cornfield maze, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, and hayrides. What else could you ask for? There is fun for the whole family at P Bar Farms, and it is just 30 minutes North of us off I-40. Activities available are dependent on the time of year.
  • Crossed Arrows Alpacas & Fiber Mill is the place to be if you want to learn all things Alpaca. From seeing and learning about the animals and their fleece to shopping at their on-site store, this is an experience you don't want to miss. 
  • Jahn's Pumpkin Hill has pumpkins, fall activities, horses, cows, chickens, and more! This agriculture learning experience is sure to be a great time for the whole family. 
  • Dark Water Ranch is a place to pet animals, walk along rows of growing crops, and play old-fashioned games. It's a trip to the age of homesteading and an excellent opportunity to remember that food doesn't just come from the grocery store.

  • Clinton: White Dog (best with a reservation)
  • Medicine Park/Wichita Mountains: Meers, Old Plantation, Riverside Cafe, Cobblestone Creamery (ice cream), Ann's Country Kitchen
  • Hinton: Pecina's Mexican Cafe
  • Weatherford: El Patio, Luigi's, The Shed, Lucille's Roadhouse, Jerry's
Museums: Wineries, Vineyards, and Breweries: And lastly, we can't forget about the Carnegie Liberty Theatre! It is the oldest continually operating movie theater in Oklahoma.
